A well
designed photo gallery on your wall will instantly add a warming homely feel to
your place. Doesn’t matter how big or small the wall surface you’ve got you can
make it work.
What you
need is time and patience and of course a bit of money to collect frames you
like, get pictures developed to the right size, and then frame the photos.
Traditional,
contemporary, neat or shabby, what ever you prefer. The goal is to create a
gallery with emotional attachment. Something you want to stop by and look at and
something that will make your guest feel instantly at home and a part of your
life. Make it personal by adding
pictures you like, magazine cut outs, your kids drawings or your dog’s paw print it
doesn’t matter. What matters is to make it reflect your family’s character.

Below is
the 3 photo gallery in our house:
1) The
inspiration wall as we call it – this a mix of our own photos, contemporary
street art and other images we liked from
magazines or books. All this displayed in different style, shape, color and
material frames. In this gallery I tend to change the photos once every 1-2 years.
2) The
sepia family gallery – some of these photos are the major milestones in our
life therefore the photos won’t change. All the images are developed in sepia and
framed in simple brown wood frames. To create interest we organized them in a
mirror like effect. It was very
time consuming to figure out the best way to do it and decide on order of the
photos but the result makes it worthwhile I think.
3) The ever
changing Instagram mirror
Since our
baby was born we took and an absolute ridiculous amount of photos of him.
Seriously way too much!!! And he is growing so fast I find impossible to pick
from the best shots. For a very flexible option I created this mini gallery - using our handy sized Instagramm photos - in which
we change the photos quite regularly. The mirror is above the fire place and
the photos are stuck onto it with 4 small dots of blu- tac.
On a day
like today I’m sure there will be plenty of photos taken to celebrate Mothers’s
day. What a great opportunity to gather a load of your photos together and start
